The Fishpond is A Place Like Home
We were born by the time you graduated from elementary. So when we were commissioned to compile your AVP, we had no idea it’s gonna be something that will touch lives. We’ve organized parties and reunions, corporate events etc, but nothing can ever be compared to the sheer joy of seeing your group reunited.
They say that your grade school barkada is the most special among all friendships you can ever create in your lifetime. True enough, for NDKC ETD ‘80 who would have thought you’d see each after 30 years and manage to keep the feeling of friendship warm and intact?
In the day to day course of our lives we meet plenty of people. But there is something in your childhood that provides you with a comfort like no other, the kind of feeling you get when you feel at home, when you never have to feel out of place. It was a point in your lives when you were true to yourself. When you never have to prove your worth and impress anyone else, when you can simply be yourself. A kid, not knowing where life will go, not knowing where tomorrow brings you, you find peace and solitude in the company of your classmates, playing endlessly, running around, hide and seek, peek a boo, singing your hearts out to tracks from Apo Hiking Society. Oh, life. And look back how much you have loved it. You would exchange anything in this world to have that kind of feeling. If only you could encapsulate the memories or have a time machine.
So go ahead, keep the fire buring, rekindle the friendship that molded you to be who you are today. The fishpond is gone now, replaced by modern structure, architectural improvements, but its image is retained in your heart and mind. You still know how it looked it, the smell of the elementary grounds visits you once in awhile, you want to go back, running, feeling free happy, and child like.
The fishpond is a symbol of friendship that brings back happy memories. Someday, you might want to share the story to your kids and future grandchildren. It is something worth sharing. And the good news is: your DVD is coming up, complete with all your effects! Lovelots, Ichay & Raymond
NDKC ETD Batch 80 Sponsors Charity Activity
What started as a fun post on facebook which featured the historical fish pond at the elementary grounds of Notre Dame of Kidapawan College Elementary Training Department has now evolved into a serious endeavor.
in 1980, their classmate was accidentally pushed to the waters much to the dismay of water lilies and fishes. But no one would dare admit who caused the misdeamenor. It has been a crazy joke. Now after 30 years, they come together. To feed the children.
On July 25, 2010, NDKC ETD 80 will sponsor 125 kids on a charity activity sure to deliver big delights to these kids’ hearts and spirits. 25 kids from the NDKC Extension program on Kindergarten has been invited, along with two (2) Day Care Classes from Nursery Phases 1 and 2, Kidapawan City. These kids were pre-identified by our coordinators.
These kids will each receive a pair of slippers, school supplies, and will be treated to heavy snacks. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, headed by Jojo David, Liza Espejo, Estong Marasigan, Alma Paragas, Rey Celis, Editha Obediente, Ginn Balmediano, Chona Baysa, Anthony Bellen, Arnel Carbonell, Rey Celis, Myra Chan, Carljohn Collado, Cyril Evangelista, Anna Flores Knight, Rosario Legaspi, Theresa Joy Macaya, Ronald Magsico, Fjmr Mangaron, Robert Marasigan, Arlene Singdalshen, Noel Nacion, Edgar Salarda, Alex Tagum, Antonette Tan, Maurice Tanueco, Eric Tayag, Stella Tinio Yamane, Ramon Tirona, Lilian Mancera Etc.

Busy Bee
It’s been so busy lately. NDBC had it’s team building activity at Gumasa, Saranggani and on our way home, the van carrying our Cotabato based colleagues met an accident and DXOL & DXMS staff were injured. Unfortunately, the NDU Company Driver (who conducted the passengers) passed away.
I have a new boardwork schedule that means you’ll catch me at Yesterday Once More 1-3PM slot Mondays to Wednesdays and on Thursdays my slot is 3to7pm.
Alicia Keys has a new track called “Empire State of Mind” and it has a remix version, a collaboration with Jay Z. You should listen to it, it’s gonna brighten your day. It’s for the ambitious and prudent individuals who yearn to achieve what they want in life. I prefer the remix version compared to the original, love it for it’s upbeat tempo, you’ll find yourself singing along with it.
Juris (Lead of MYMP) also came up with “I Dont Want to Fall” but you might be disappointed because it’s not as appealing as their big hits like “Sa Kanya” and “Only Reminds Me of You” .
For new songs on 88.7 Hot Radio listen around 6to8am, so there, enjoy listening! God Bless, Love Much **DJC
Your Sacrifice
On May 21, 2010, Ladies Life Support, represented by Bernice Joanna Pinol and Dj China went to two Barangays in Kidapawan City to reach out to less fortunate children who can’t afford to buy themselves school supplies come June 2010.
This undertaking is part of the Charity Bazaar held on April 10,2010 at the City Plaza where part of the proceeds benefited the streetchildren in the mega market. The second part which had Brgy Habitat and Brgy Kalaisan as recipients relied on some generous people over the social network Facebook.
A campaign was launched called “Sacrifice”, because for an amount you sacrifice, it will benefit the pre-schoolers and inspire them to pursue their studies since there are so many people wiling to help them.
Jollibee Kidapawan also helped with the snacks of the kids during the turn over ceremony.
Special thanks to Cromwell Palicte, Henry Gil Jubilan, Gerna Bernadas, Ziek, Gary & Neil Bernadas, Kristine Mansueto Ping Aranilla, Junval Arenal, Lana Lange, Dennis Resogento, Tetet Bustamante, Hane Lyn Emperado and everyone else who contributed their sacrifice to help the kids.
The kids were pre-identified by the assigned Day Care Teacher conducting summer classes to those who have enrolled as Kindergarten pupils for this school year. Each school kits contains pad paper, sharpener, eraser, and crayons.
May you continue to support our charitable endeavors. God bless!
